JOIN US FOR WORSHIP

Main Street United Methodist Church began in 1852 as one of the Mississippi Coast’s earliest churches.  The church, which has been located in the heart of Bay Saint Louis’ Old Town for over 150 years, has had a long and colorful history.  It has grown and changed alongside the community, riding out Hurricane Camille and Hurricane Katrina. Main Street UMC continues to be active in the community as well as offer a space where we may all grow in love for God, God’s words, God’s people and God’s world.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What can I expect to experience on a Sunday morning (and what do I wear?):

  • The morning Blended Worship Service follows the traditional liturgical calendar.

  • Our music is led by the Chancel Choir and most of our congregational music is taken from the hymnal.

  • Come as you are! Some dress in their Sunday best, others come in shorts and flip flops… you’ll fit right in.

  • Main Street has a casual and laid back feel that matches that of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Come how you feel most comfortable!

Is Main Street Accessible to people with disabilities?

  • Yes! We have a wheelchair ramp on the side of the building that leads into the sanctuary.

  • Please let us know if we can help you in any way. Feel free to call our office if you have any questions.

  • Our Facility also has handicap accessible restrooms.

How can I meet people and get connected?

  • Join us for coffee and snacks every Sunday following the service in our Rebecca Hall, located near the sanctuary. This is a great time to meet others in the church!

  • Feel free to email Pastor Terry if you are looking for other opportunities to get connected with Main Street.

  • We also have seasonal small groups throughout the year, but the best way- just come!
